We also raise birds for song. American Singers are a singing variety of
canaries that have been produced in the US. Song has long been a goal for
breeders and has produced several distinct breeds beside the American Singers:
for example Waterslagers from Belgium, Hartz Rollers from Germany, and Timbrados.
A third goal for breeders has been variations in the size, shape or color of
canaries. This has resulted in canaries of different breeds such as Yorkshires,
Norwich, Glosters, Borders, Fifes and Lizards. We raise at present only the
Lizard variety.
